GARDENS AND CASTLESTraquair House About 5 miles down the road – gardens, woodland walks, café, shop, maze & a brewery! Kailzie Gardens - Beautiful gardens, café, shop & trout pond, about 4 miles away. Dawyck Botanic Gardens - About 6 miles south-west of us, exceptional botanical garden with an award-winning visitor centre. Neidpath Castle - Peebles’ ‘local’ castle, about a 1.5 mile walk. Cademuir Hill Fort is an Iron Age Fort & is immediately (well a mile or two) behind our house & an amazing walk. Here’s some info about it: Rosslyn Chapel - A bit further afield (about 12 miles north of us), but a unique place, particularly if you’re into all that Da Vinci Code stuff.
