ACCOMMODATION

Tantah Croft was completed in 2010 and built to the highest green standards. It is super-insulated & clad in Scottish larch, with doors & internal fittings predominantly in Scottish oak. 

We've now added Tantah Studio, a small studio apartment that can also be used as an annex to Tantah Croft for larger parties - check it out here.

Tantah Croft's heating and hot water is supplied via a combination of solar panels, passive solar heating, electricity, and a woodburning stove in the living area. In 2020, we installed a new state-of-the-art air source heat pump to run the underfloor heating and provide ample hot water.

At the rear of the house there is a sheltered, south-facing patio & garden with superb views plenty of seating (more chairs are available) & an enormous BBQ. At the back of the garden there is a gate leading directly on to Cadenuir Hill and Cademuir forest, which has many fantastic trails for walkers, runners and riders.

The double bedroom on the upper level of the house has a door opening out on to the rear patio. It can be set up as a twin or doubleroom.

The house is on two levels built into the side of Cademuir Hill. The lower level comprises a large porch, two large double bedrooms, a hall  utility area and two bathrooms, one with a bath/shower and one with a walk-in shower. The upper level comprises a large open-plan kitchen/living area and a double bedroom. There is ample parking & a secure bike storage at the front of the property and a sheltered patio at the rear, with a gate giving direct access to Cademuir Hill. Each bedroom has an external door on to either the rear patio or front tiled deck.

There is a large, open-plan living area with a high definition TV  with freeview TV, Aapples TV and free access to Netflix.

The kitchen is well equipped & includes a diswasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, full-sized oven & induction hob. The washer/dryer is tucked away in the hallway.

THE 3 double bedrooms can be set up as twin or double bedrooms  comfortable sleeping 6 Adults.

The two double bedrooms are both on the lower level & have doors & windows at the front of the house looking out towards Peebles Hydro & Glentress Forest. Each room has ample storage space, They can both be set up as twin or double bedrooms.

  • We also have a highchair, carry cot and small table and chairs for guests with babies or toddlers
  • Check in not before 4pm on day of arrival.
  • Check out by 10am on day of departure.
  • Maps & advice on ‘off trail’ walking & cycling routes available – just ask.
